Valerie and Tom were married on a sunny day in June a few weeks ago and everything about their day was bright and beautiful. From the moment we met with Valerie and her four sisters at their parent’s home, it was clear that this would be a special day.
Valerie was a stunning bride and I love this shot of her by Alex. It shows her sweet and quiet side.
He also captured this one of Tom when we met up with him at the church.
Their ceremony was heart-warming. I love getting to see their faces close-up when I’m able to stand to the far left or right of the altar. It’s so nice to see all of the details, especially the emotion as they say their vows.
We stopped off at Squaw Run Park for some portraits on our way to Riverside Landing in Oakmont. Valerie and Tom are so much fun to photograph. They’re so sweet with one another and it really shows. We had a great time at their engagement session too! And their reception at Riverside Landing was no different—such a fun celebration. It was nice to see their family and friends share in the love. What a happy day!
Congrats, Valerie and Tom! Many blessings to you and your marriage! (And many more photos to come!)

I posted about Lisa and Josh’s love lock story last week and now, I’m ready to share it all—every last scrumptious detail! Lisa and Josh were so much fun to spend the day with. They flew in from their new abode in San Francisco. And I must say, I’m really impressed at how they did such a fabulous job planning this wedding from out of town. It went so smoothly—without a hitch, and the details were gorgeous! We started with Lisa getting ready at the Hampton Inn in Oakland.
This is not your usual sneak peek, but I can’t help but sharing some fun photos from Lisa and Josh’s wedding this past May. They introduced me to this European custom where sweethearts decorate a padlock with their initials or a special date, put it on a bridge and throw away the key as a tribute to their eternal love. This custom recently made it’s way to the US and Pittsburgh’s own Schenley Drive has a bridge with a growing number of love locks. Lisa and Josh’s wedding took place a Phipps Conservatory, so this lock bridge was just a hop, skip, and jump away.
It was a fun little ceremony of sorts. And they hammed it up for the photos.
These two are so funny!
And then, they throw away the key!
And there you have it, Lisa and Josh forever!
We had a wonderful day photographing this fabulous couple and I’m looking forward to sharing many more photos in the full blog post. Stay tuned!
Whew! I’m a bit behind on my blogging after a very busy month of May with lots and lots of shooting. It’s been great and I’ll have lots to show for it in the next few weeks, but now I’d like to focus on a beautiful wedding that took place at Phipps Conservatory. Stephanie and Ed were married in the Broderie room and it couldn’t have been lovelier! Between the lush greenery at Phipps and the beautiful blooms in Stephanie’s bouquet by Hepatica, I can’t think of the last time I saw such gorgeous flowers.

Most of my weddings take place in Pittsburgh, but I love to travel, so traveling to photograph a destination wedding is such a treat! Courtney and Matt were married in Charleston, South Carolina (see sneak peek here) at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. And it was such a lovely day at a gorgeous location with lots of fabulous details! I think that’s probably a run-on sentence, but my grammar falls by the wayside when I get excited about something.
