Melissa and Vince were married less than two weeks ago in the lovely St. John Vianney Church in Arlington, just south of downtown Pittsburgh. These two are super sweet and I’ve been really looking forward to photographing their wedding since getting to know them at their engagement session this spring. I haven’t had a chance to blog about their engagement yet, but will do so soon!

I’ve been so lucky to photograph three weddings so far at Phipps Conservatory in the 2012 wedding season. Phipps is definitely a favorite location of mine here in Pittsburgh, but what I learned at Lucia and Jon’s wedding is that there are many great locations on Carnegie Mellon’s campus and it’s all within walking distance. Lucia and Jon planned an intimate wedding for their very closest family and friends, and they only wanted photographers for part of the day, so they took advantage of our partial day coverage. And in just four hours, I think they made the most of it which makes me very happy! We met for some portraits before the ceremony at Carnegie Mellon.
We spent about two hours traversing the campus and making portraits at locations that are special to Lucia and Jon. They met at CMU and shared many wonderful memories there.
Their ceremony took place in the Broderie Room at Phipps. And we had the perfect weather for a ceremony in the Broderie Room, which is normally very warm and humid during the summer months. With all of the rain we’ve been having lately, the Broderie Room was very pleasant.
After the ceremony we did some family portraits in the Broderie Room and then headed back to CMU, for a nighttime portrait on the Randy Pausch Bridge.
What a great day! Congrats to Lucia and Jon! Many blessing to you and your marriage.

I’m a true-blue Pittsburgher, but my roots take me back to the Hershey and Harrisburg area, where fate introduced my mom and dad in the tenth grade. So my sister and I shared a lot of fond memories there, visiting my grandparents and cousins. Anyway, the sweetest little red-headed girl you ever saw is all grown up into a really lovely young woman and she’s getting married! So I was thrilled to spend the day photographing Ashley and Ethan, and I got to hang out with my other darling cousin (and Ashley’s maid of honor), Christina. She took her role as maid of honor seriously and did an awesome job of assisting us throughout the day!
Anyway, we started in the charming town of Anneville, where Ashley spent her college days at Lebanon Valley College. Ashley rented a tandem bike so they could pedal up and down the sidewalks there. She has such a great sense of style and awesome ideas, so we were off to a great start!
This isn’t your typical engagement session because we spent the whole day together and did four short sessions at different locations. Our next venture took us to Founder’s Hall at the Milton Hershey School.
Here’s one shot that I really love from this location. These two are so sweet together!
And last, but not least, this next collage includes shots of them fishing on the Susquehanna River and out on the town at City Island, on the Walnut Street Bridge.
Ashley and Ethan, I am so looking forward to your wedding next June! Thanks for an awesome day!

Laura and Keith were married at The Villa in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Springwood Conference Center. It was one of those steamy hot days in June, but that didn’t get in the way. This wedding was full of joy and fun. We started with Laura getting ready inside The Villa. One of my favorite photos from the day is the one of Laura and her flower girls. The ladies in this family have gorgeous blue eyes and Laura’s nieces are just adorable!

It’s been a long time since my first meeting with Rebecca when we talked about her what she envisioned for her wedding photography. And over the past year, it has been so exciting to see it all come together. From her studio bridal session, to the details at her reception, I have been anticipating a gorgeous wedding with gobs of great details—for a wedding photographer, that is like being a kid in a candy store! We started with Rebecca and her bridesmaids getting ready at the posh Izazzu salon in downtown Pittsburgh. And then we met up with Brad at The Priory where he and the guys were dressed and ready to go.
