Baby Steps

I’m clearing out some cobwebs after a month or so of blogging since photographing my last wedding. Week after week, I’ve thought, I should probably get back to blogging. But I need to admit I’ve been deliriously distracted—my husband and I welcomed the most wonderful baby boy you ever saw into the world this Fall (right in the midst of the wedding season—thank goodness for a good plan B and some fantastic support from a few good friends). Anyway, we’re starting to settle into a rhythm with our Little B and are mesmerized with all of the fun things he discovers each day.

And as I’m learning to balance my roles as a mommy and photographer, I’m taking my own baby steps to get back into the swing of things. And for my first post of the new year, I had some help from Little B! We ventured out into the snow a few weeks back at a park in my neighborhood. Actually, Little B sat his car seat in the warmth of our car while I hoped out and snapped some inspired landscapes without having to walk more than a few steps from the car.

Yay! I did it! Yep, I’m cheering for myself, because I’m learning to celebrate the little things. I’m hoping to share some images of Little B in my next post. I just need to figure out which ones…

Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at St. Joan of Arc Church and Rolling Hills Country Club

Sarah and Mike were married one month ago today in a beautiful ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Church in Pittsburgh’s South Hills. This is my last wedding to photograph this season and I can’t think of a nicer one to wrap up 2012. A big thanks to Alex and Michelle who started at Sarah’s parents’ home where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. They did an awesome job documenting everything before I met up with them at the church. I really like the images of Sarah’s dog in a dress and her flower girls playing dress up in heels.

Kristin and Nate were married one month ago today in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary’s Parish in the South Hills with a Tiffany’s themed wedding reception at the Hilton Garden Inn/Southpointe. I’d like to thank Alex Jones and Rebecca Chiappelli for their wonderful job covering Kristin and Nate’s wedding while I was recovering from the birth of our newborn earlier that week. They started with Kristin at her parent’s home for some getting ready photos of the beautiful bride.

Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at Beulah Presbyterian and The Longue Vue Club

Lauren and Dan said “I do” on a gorgeous fall day in September at the chapel at Beulah Presbyterian Church with a reception that followed at the lovely Longue Vue Club. Their wedding just gushed with elegance from the details to their graceful choreography during the first dance. And I love the peacock feathers that they incorporated all throughout their day, from the boutonnieres to the table place cards. Before I get carried away with spilling the details, here are some images of Lauren getting ready. I’d like to thank Alex Jones and Sean Means for capturing these, as they covered the beginning and end of the day without me while I was on “light duty” in my last month of pregnancy.

Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at Bethlehem Lutheran and Hampton Banquet Hall

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted anything because I’ve been busy getting ready for the arrival of our first son, so I’m glad to get back into the blogging groove and share Amy and Dan’s beautiful wedding from August. I guess you could say I have some blogging to get caught up on before my due date in October (and I’ll be photographing two weddings and an engagement session to boot)! The good news is, I’m staying on top of all of my client deadlines as that’s a really important part of my business philosophy. Anyway, this sunny August wedding had the most perfect weather. After the stretch of a long heat wave, Amy and Dan figured their day would be a hot one, but to everyone’s surprise the rainy Friday before the wedding cooled things off quite nicely. We started with Amy at her parent’s home, not far from Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
