As a parent, I’m always thinking about what I can do to make experiences more fun for my kids and for me! And I really like this mama’s approach to her family portraits. She chose Beaver Street in Sewickley where we could stop by a park, walk by storefronts on the sidewalk, and if they were good, she promised a visit to the bakery where her 4-year old twins could pick out a treat. Little reminders of the promise of a reward were great motivators and I think the photos speak for themselves, these cutie pies had fun! And when I dropped off their album and wall art, the kids had so much to say about our photoshoot when they were reminded by seeing their photos.
Small Business Photography: 2022 is the Perfect Time to Refresh Your Imagery
/by kmillerAs a small business owner, these past two years have been an exercise in finding my feet, and then finding them again. And as I think about other businesses and how they too have adapted and innovated, I feel like we owe it to our selves to close out 2021 celebrating our survival with the hope for 2022 to be a year for thriving. And I’m excited to partner with small businesses in creating fresh imagery that conveys this upward trajectory. If you’re thinking like I’m thinking, let’s take a breath, and envision what’s in store.
Engagement Session at Lake Arthur
/by kmillerEngagement sessions just keep getting better and better. It is such a joy to spend time with couples before their wedding day and I highly recommend engagement sessions for my wedding clients because they’re a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and can help relieve any jitters about wedding photography. I met this sweet couple at Moraine State Park, Lake Arthur to be exact.

Small Business Photographer: How I Got Here
/by kmillerHonestly, this wasn’t on my radar 13 years ago. And I feel like a bit of an outsider, but I think that will change with time. I felt the same way when I started photographing weddings. Over the past year, I’ve had a lot of great opportunities to help small businesses with (captivating) imagery to market their business. And I think my experience of capturing many different types of portraits over the last 13 years translates well for small business photography. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes!
Photographing the Whole Family: Extended Family Portraits
/by kmillerI’ve noticed a bit of a trend toward large family portraits this year. It must be related to families being apart during the pandemic. And these families have inspired me to capture our extended family as well. It is so meaningful to see everyone together, especially after these past two years.
