Don’t fret about stretch marks or swollen ankles. We’ll emphasize your beauty in just the right way. You can bring your own attire or choose from our studio wardrobe featuring beautiful maternity gowns and silks from Europe. Maternity sessions are best scheduled between weeks 30 and 36. To schedule, please reach out during your second trimester so that we can plan ahead for wardrobe and location. Many of our maternity sessions take place in the studio, but an on-location maternity session is also a great option if you’re up for it!

Our Process

In eight simple steps

1: Discovery Call or Text

We’ll take 10-minutes to get to learn about what you’re envisioning as well as answer any questions you might have.

Please fill out my contact form and I’ll be in touch soon.

2: Book Your Session

When you decide you’re ready to get started, sign the booking proposal to reserve your session.

You can pay your session fee online or mail a check

3: Getting to Know You

Fill out our questionnaire to plan your session.

We’ll use this info to prepare for your photoshoot.

4: Welcome Packet Mailed

We’ll email a welcome packet to you.

So you’ll have everything you need to know for your session.

5: Photoshoot Day

Plan to arrive to the studio or the designated location 10 minutes prior to your session.

We’ll work together to create something beautiful.

6: Photo Reveal

We’ll project a highlights reel on the big screen and share mock-ups or artwork with your images.

Then, you’ll get to choose the images we retouch for your session.

7: Artwork Delivered

Retouched selections are emailed in a downloadable gallery within two weeks from your photo reveal.

Artwork ordered during your photo reveal is ready for pick-up within 4 weeks.

8: Enjoy Your Artwork

Seeing your artwork on display is the best way to enjoy your photos every day.

We incentivize this by including an additional retouched digital file for every $50 spent.

The Artwork

Following your session, Kate will put together a photo reveal and you’re invited to come into the studio to see your photography projected on the big screen. You’ll see mock-ups of artwork featuring your images as well as sample artwork in the studio. Our custom framing and heirloom albums are handcrafted and unsurpassed in quality.

Our linen keepsake boxes feature your photography as fine art prints, mounted and matted. This is a wonderful, tangible way to enjoy your photography.

Kate Miller has been photographing babies and families in Pittsburgh for 16 years and has had her own studio in Cranberry for two years. During her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, walking her Sheepadoodle, and going on adventures with her family.

How do I prepare for my maternity session?

If you’re bringing in your own wardrobe, have it hanging and ironed or steamed the night before your session. Moisturize your skin and apply chapstick before going to bed. Allow enough time to wake up for your regular morning routine (coffee, breakfast, getting ready).

What should I wear?

If you would like assistance with planning your wardrobe, Kate is happy to help. Please just let her know.

Do you offer hair and makeup?

Yes! You can add on hair and makeup to your session and we’ll coordinate with a team of stylist to meet you at the studio.

What can be done to make me look my best?

Kate pays close attention to creating flattering lighting and can addresses any concerns about your look that are related to your pregnancy during retouching.

How do I get more digital files?

Any purchase of tangible artwork (prints, albums and wall art) comes with a retouched digital file for each $50 spent. All retouched files are hand-retouched and sized to make 8×10 prints or smaller.
