Studio Newborn Session with the Whole Family

I’m often asked by families if my newborn sessions are limited to just babies.  And this surprises me because I feel the family is a very important part in the story of a newborn.   I absolutely encourage the whole family to be a part of the session and that sometimes even includes the family dog!  I remember back to when my youngest son was born.  One of my main desires for his newborn session was capturing my two boys together.  And I feel the same way about capturing baby with each parent.  To me, that is more important than having lots of posed images of baby alone.

Celebrating 15 Years!

Fifteen years ago, I registered my business name and photographed my first wedding.  I was just celebrating my own first anniversary and had a handful of classes at Pittsburgh Filmmakers under my belt.  Thankfully, this couple had faith in me for their lovely backyard wedding and I walked away with the start of my portfolio and a certainty that I had found my passion.  A few years later, I left my full-time job to focus on my photography business and not long after that, we had our first son.  And while I still enjoy photographing weddings, I fell in love with capturing babies and families—always with the dream of opening a studio in the back of my mind.  And in June of last year, that dream came true and I’m celebrating 15 years in business and my first year at the studio!

Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer: Studio Session

Staying at home for your newborn session is nice, but going to a natural light studio that is outfitted with all of the comforts of home might be better.  This Pittsburgh mom and dad thought so and as a photographer I whole-heartedly agree.  They even brought their dog to be included in some of the photos!

Cranberry Photo Studio Newborn Session

This newborn session in our Cranberry Photo Studio was meant to look like it took place at home.  With a bed, a crib, and plenty of natural light, this family is beaming with love.

Pittsburgh Newborn Session: Gifting A Session

This recent session was a gift from a mom to her daughter and son-in-law and I love the thoughtfulness from this new grandma.  She’s giving her daughter’s family the opportunity to capture the sweetness of this precious, fleeting time.  And it’s a gift that she’ll probably enjoy just as much as her daughter!
