Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at St. Frances Cabrini Parish and The Club at Shadow Lakes
Congratulations to Jen and Tim! It’s been about two weeks since I photographed their Pittsburgh wedding and these newlyweds will soon celebrate their first holidays as husband and wife. So sweet! Anyway, I just finished editing their wedding and have lots to share about these honeymooners. To start, Jen wore a beautiful gown with a full skirt and a higher waist. I love this style. It’s a nice change after a season of drop waist gowns.
She wore a sixpence in her shoe for good luck. Thanks to Alex for the next two photos!
I really like photographing Jen and her bridesmaids. They were really enjoying being together.
Jen allowed for lots of time for photos before the ceremony, so we weren’t rushed and she still had time to spend with her bridesmaids and parents before leaving for the church.
Meanwhile, Tim and his groomsmen were making sure everything was running smoothly at the church. Alex met them there and photographed them in a nearby park.
The priest spoke about a Chinese philosophy on why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger. The thumb represents your parents, the index finger represents your siblings, the middle finger represents yourself, the ring finger represents your spouse, and the little finger represents your children. He asked the Jen and Tim to put their palms a few inches apart with the middle fingers bent down and touching. Then he asked them to connect the other finger tips together. After an eloquent explanation for why your parents, siblings, and children can live apart, he asked them to try and separate each set of fingers and the only set that could not be moved was the ring finger, representing your spouse.
Once you hear something like this you just have to try it.
Catholic ceremonies always keep me on my toes because the kiss isn’t always scripted so you never quite know when it’s coming.
Here’s the bridal party.
Their ceremony was held at The Club at Shadow Lakes which made for some lovely scenes for their portraits.
Alex is so great to work with. When he sees that I’m shooting vertical, he shoots horizontal so I have some variety when designing the album. Often times when I’m editing the images, I think, “oh, I didn’t see it that way, but I like that better.” Here’s one of them:
Their first dance was very sweet. I love seeing them so happy.
This crowd loved dance songs like the Locomotion, the Electric Slide, the Cha Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle. They even did the Hokey Pokey!
Jen and Tim, it was so much fun working with you and seeing you enjoy your day. Thank you for the opportunity! Many blessings to you and your marriage!
Kate they are gorgeous! You are so awesome and we could not have imagined having anyone else photograph our wedding! We can’t wait to see all of them!
Thanks Jennifer! You’re so sweet and I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to photograph your wedding! Your web gallery should be up and running before the day’s through and your disc is on the way!
