Newborn sibling portrait - Studio Newborn Family Session

I’m often asked by families if my newborn sessions are limited to just babies.  And this surprises me because I feel the family is a very important part in the story of a newborn.   I absolutely encourage the whole family to be a part of the session and that sometimes even includes the family dog!  I remember back to when my youngest son was born.  One of my main desires for his newborn session was capturing my two boys together.  And I feel the same way about capturing baby with each parent.  To me, that is more important than having lots of posed images of baby alone.

I should mention that capturing young siblings with the new baby can be very tricky, but there are lots of things we can do to help that big sibling slow down for a moment or two.  Including giving them a time to shine on their own!  This little guy loved jumping in the crib and I was so glad to capture that because it is a good representation of the energy this sweet boy has and mom and dad will be able to chuckle when they look back at this photo.

And there’s plenty of time in the session to focus on the baby whether sleeping or awake.  It’s such a joy for me to be able to capture this sweet time in a family’s story.  And I know first-hand how the value of these photos just keeps increasing with time.  If you are expecting and want to plan ahead for your newborn photos, please get in touch.
