When I walk down my steps to go out of my front door, I pass through a gallery of framed prints lining the walls of my stairs.  It’s like walking through a photo album of some of our sweetest moments from the time my boys were babies up through the present day.  It’s a gallery that grows with our family, and of course, it features some of my favorite artwork!  Our boys enjoy looking at the photos and talking about which portraits are their’s, how old they were, and what was happening at that time. Here’s a little video so you can see my stairway, which is very much in need of a fresh coat of paint!

Seeing these sweet faces on the walls blesses me as I am reminded of the story of our family.  And it blesses our boys too as it strengthens our identity as a family.  

For a long time, our home didn’t have many portraits on the walls. I was a busy mom balancing my growing business and home life.  But over the last year, while I’ve shifted into working full-time, it became more important for me personally to get our artwork up on the walls.  And as a photographer, my shift to full-service sessions is a result of this mindset.  I want to create tangible artwork for my clients so they can enjoy their photos everyday.  I believe your family portrait is your most valuable artwork.  Here’s a new 2-minute video from my About page where I share a bit more about how seeing photos of my family on the wall helps me celebrate how far we’ve come and how I want to help others do the same!

  

Elevating The Experience in 2022

Starting this year, I’m going to be working with an assistant who can enhance lighting, be a second pair of eyes (and a second pair of hands!), so that I can focus on creating a good experience and capturing moments.
