Engagement Session: McConnells Mill State Park
One of my very favorite persons is getting married. I will try not to gush too much about my excitement for this union, but I can’t make any promises. My husband and I know this beautiful young lady from church and she has babysat our boys since they were babies. Getting to photograph her engagement session means so much to me.
When Passions Combine
When my passion for photography combines with people I love, I can’t help but overflow with joy. I just wrote that sentence and realized it’s not entirely true. Sadly, this doesn’t apply to my own family, though I wish it did. They usually don’t want to be photographed, but I do greatly cherish the photos I have of them and appreciate even their smallest willingness to oblige me!
Location and Wardrobe
There is one more thing that can add to my joy in this happy scenario: location. McConnells Mill State Park is one of my favorites. No matter the season, this place is lovely all year round. And as a case in point, we were there in January! There are lots of evergreens, ferns, and moss for greenery throughout the winter. Plus, for reasons beyond my understanding the creek was a beautiful shade of jade that day, an awesome compliment to the hues of this couple’s wardrobe.
An engagement session in January?
Yep, and you can barely see it in these pictures, but snowflakes were falling. I think the warmth between these two was enough to keep all three of us warm. Also, the hike around the park helped!
