Ashley and Ethan’s Wedding at Ski Liberty
I’m so honored to be able to photograph the very beginning of a couple’s married life and it doesn’t get any better when it’s someone near and dear to my heart. My sweet cousin, Ashley and her fiancé Ethan, took my breath away as they said, “I do” at Ski Liberty in Fairfield, PA just about two weeks ago. They are big into snow boarding, in fact, Ethan proposed on the slopes, so Liberty Mountain Resort made the perfect setting. And Ashley incorporate so many fun details, so let’s get to it!
I love how the chevron detail on her programs, name cards and table tops ties in with the snow-boarding theme. I’m not sure if that’s a pattern that one would see when they’re out snowboarding, because I’ve never been that brave, but I think it is fantastic with the repetitive peaks and valleys and the simple black-and-white pattern.
Brienne and I started with the ladies at Boulder Ridge Lodge, where the reception was also held. The guys got ready there too, in the loft above the main hall. Here are a few more details that I couldn’t pass up and a photo of Ashley and Chrissy, her sister and maid of honor.
Before the ceremony, Ashley and Ethan posed for this shot without seeing each other, just shouting out a sweet, “I love you!” from above and below.
It was a sun-shiny kind of day, and I love how Ashley and Ethan just glow in this photo of them after Ashley’s father walked her down the aisle.
Ashley and Ethan incorporated a neat tradition based on Ecclesiastes 4:12 “a chord of three strands is not easily broken” with the white cord representing Ashley, the black chord representing Ethan, and the yellow chord representing Jesus. I really love that depiction of a strong marriage!
After the ceremony, we hopped on a shuttle for some photos on the ski lift.
And then we headed back up to Boulder Ridge Lodge for a few more photos before the reception.
And the reception was so much fun. There were so many fun dancing photos that I mixed a few in with their announcement, cake cutting, and first dance. It was tough to choose!
Ashley and Ethan, I’m so happy for you and am so glad to have been part of your big day. Congratulations and many blessing to you!
