Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at Holy Innocents Parish, West End Overlook, & Airport Marriott
Carolyn and Ryan were married on a beautiful Saturday two weeks ago at Holy Innocents Parish in Pittsburgh’s West End. Carolyn’s vision for a fall wedding came to life with lots of fabulous details, locations, and an awesome bridal party. All around, it was a fun day to be a photographer. We started with Carolyn and the ladies at her parents’ home and then headed to the church to catch up with Ryan and the guys.
The ceremony at Holy Innocents was breath-taking. I really love the long aisle and stained-glass windows there. This was our first time photographing a wedding at this church and I hope we’ll have another opportunity to go there again soon. The photo at the lower left cracks me up. I don’t know what they’re whispering, but I love this vantage point through a doorway behind the altar.
Then we went for a short drive to the West End Overlook for some portraits of the bridal party and Carolyn and Ryan alone. Alex and I start with the full bridal party and then focus on just the bride and groom for the remainder of the time. We were running short on time, so the bridal party portraits were brief to make sure we had enough time with Carolyn and Ryan. Many thanks to the bridal party for sticking with us as we flew through the first few shots. They were so cooperative and that allowed us to get back on track with the schedule.
I mentioned that Carolyn and Ryan had some really nice details, and I’d like to point out their custom lighting at the lower left. They actually sketched the tree with the adorable heart and initials and had it make into a gobo to be projected on the wall. I think that’s my favorite detail. And the Pittsburgh Popcorn favor bags are a close second!
Carolyn and Ryan had their first dance after they were announced. After dinner, there were sentimental toasts and lots of cheers before DJ Scott Meiser got everyone up on the dance floor.
Many more photos to come with the web gallery! Carolyn and Ryan, I hope you’re having a wonderful honeymoon. Thanks for the opportunity to photograph your wedding and many blessings to you and your marriage!
