Pittsburgh Wedding Photography at Phipps Conservatory
Colleen and Jeremy are college sweethearts. They’re proud Pitt alumns and after spending time photographing them during their engagement session and wedding, I think they must have been the “it” couple in many circles at Pitt. They are adorable together. And while there were rain clouds and chilly temperatures on their wedding day, they didn’t let it get them down—their ceremony and reception just radiated with warmth and happiness.
We started with Colleen and her bridesmaids getting ready at Styles By Cardamone in Regent Square and then caught up with Jeremy and the gang at their hotel room in Oakland.
Colleen and Jeremy divvied up the wedding planning tasks and did an excellent job of coordinating some fantastic details at their reception. Here’s a glimpse of just some of the things that caught my eye that day.
Here’s Colleen looking absolutely breath-taking before she walks down the aisle. I have Alex to thank for this lovely portrait.
After the ceremony, we headed to the Mellon Institute for some portraits as a plan B due to the rain. The sun was setting which caused us to think differently about portraits along the columns there. Because the Mellon Institute has generally has beautiful natural light, Alex made the most of the dim available light and got creative with off-camera lighting on the fly with an SC cord.
We soon headed back to the reception tent where heat lamps and delicious dinners awaited. DJ Steve got the party started by holding the cake cutting, first dance, and father/daughter and mother/son dances back to back. And once the dance floor was clear, it didn’t stay that way for long. This was a dancing crowd and the night was young.
Here’s Jeremy having fun with the garter. I didn’t have room for this one above, but it was too fun not to include.
And lastly, here’s one more of the happy couple.
Colleen and Jeremy, thank you for having us along with you for the day. It was such a treat! Many blessings to you and your marriage!
